Diverse group of mourners gathered at a non-religious funeral service, representing an inclusive humanist funeral ceremony in Kent.

Humanist Funeral Celebrant in Kent

I’m Becky Jones, a Humanists UK–accredited celebrant. I create meaningful, non-religious funerals, celebrations of life, memorials and ashes ceremonies that place your loved one at the heart of the service — personal, dignified, and led by you.  I cover Maidstone and surrounding areas (around a 20-mile radius).

A farewell that reflects your loved one

I’ll work with you to tell their story with warmth and honesty, creating a calm, respectful space for reflection, remembrance and connection — a non-religious funeral that truly reflects them.

What I offer

As a humanist funeral celebrant, my role is to create a bespoke celebration of life shaped around who your loved one was, what mattered to them, and the relationships that defined their life. Every non-religious funeral is carefully written and centred on the person you’re remembering, so the ceremony reflects their unique story.

What’s included

A gentle consultation at a pace that works for you, focused on creating a meaningful celebration of life. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help you share memories and key moments that matter most. I’ll write a fully bespoke ceremony script with care and compassion for your non-religious funeral or memorial service. We can include readings, poems, tributes, and favourite music (if you wish). Family and friends are welcome to speak, or I can read on their behalf. I’ll share the script with you in advance so we can make any revisions needed. On the day, I’ll lead the ceremony with warmth, dignity, and clarity.

Focused on your memories

Everyone at a funeral will have known your loved one in their own way. I’ll help you create a celebration of life that honours that — making space for grief, gratitude and shared memories, in a non-religious funeral or memorial service that truly reflects them.

Supportive, clear, and led by you

  • Initial call — We’ll speak briefly to understand what you need, timings, and any key details.
  • Planning conversation — I’ll listen carefully as you share stories, memories, and what you’d like included (and what you’d rather avoid).
  • Writing the ceremony — I draft the service and share it with you. We can adjust anything until it feels right.
  • On the day — I lead the ceremony calmly and professionally, guiding everyone through the service with warmth and dignity.
